Increase Speed of MOZILLA FIREFOX

You can speed up MOZILLA FIREFOX to its extent by using some of the tips here..

1. On the URL Bar type "about:config" without quotes.
2. Find the following things and do as told by double clicking the Preference Name.
    1. network.http.max-connections – 48
    2. network.http.max-connections-per-server – 16
    3. network.http.max-persistent-connections-per-proxy – 8
    4. network.http.max-persistent-connections-per-server – 4
    5. network.http.pipelining – true
    6. network.http.pipelining.maxrequests – 100
    7. network.http.proxy.pipelining – true
3. One more thing:
    1. Right Click on anywhere on the screen and add a NEW INTEGER
    2. Name it “nglayout.initialpaint.delay” and set its value to “0”.

Improve XP shutdown speed

Improve your XP shutdown speed for faster shutdown...

There are 2 things you can do for faster XP shutdown performance...
    1. Go to Start
    2. Type "Regedit" without quotes.
    3. Now, Goto HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Control Panel\Desktop\
    4. On the right side, Find "WaitToKillAppTimeout"
    5. Double click on it and set Value Data to 1000
    6. Click Ok.
    7. Now, Search for HungAppTimeout.
    8. Double click on it and set Value Data to 1000
    9. Click OK
      Then,
    1. Now, Goto HKEY_USERS\.DEFAULT\Control Panel\Desktop
    2. On the right side, Find "WaitToKillAppTimeout"
    3. Double click on it and set Value Data to 1000
    4. Click OK
    5. Now Find HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\CurrentControlSet\Control
    6. On the right side, Find "WaitToKillServiceTimeout"
    7. Double click on it and set Value Data to 1000
    8. Click OK
